Researchers from EMÜ introduced their field of study to high school students

Marilin Ivask gave a talk in Kiviõli I High school about "Kloonimine ehk mida EMÜ embrüolaboris tehakse". Elina Mark visited Jõhvi Gymnasium and gave a talk about "Sigimise biotehnoloogiad loomakasvatuses". Monika Nõmm supervised a hands on curse for in vitro embryo production to the students from Ülenurme Gymnasium.

We are happy to announce that PhD student Elina Mark from EMU has been starting to supervise a third year bachelor student Hanna Raidvere with the topic of „Different effects of vitrification media on bovine embryo cryopreservation“. Elina is also supervising Pihla Teppo on her thesis about „Oocyte quality and donor animal healt“.

Monika Nõmm from EMU is supervising an exchange student Aya Khaled Mahdy from the University of Açores, Department of Agrarian Sciences, Portugal. The topic of her master thesis is the „Effect of cortisol on bovine oocytes maturation and further embryonic development after in vitro fertilization“.

UCPH will start a new project EliteOva in December 2017

The collaboration agreement for EliteOva have been finalized. EliteOva, which is funded by Innovation Fund Denmark and it aims to combine and optimize In vitro production and genomic selection of bovine embryos. The project will be initiated in December 2017.
