Great news from Sheffield
Rafaela Konstantinidi an undergraduate research student in my group at Sheffield has had her research project selected for presentation at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) on 12-13 April 2018. The project is entitled 'Investigating how the presence of spermatozoa alters the secretion of extracellular vesicles by cultured porcine oviductal epithelial cells in an in vitro model of the female reproductive tract'.

Monika Dovenska was born in 1986 in Kumanovo, Macedonia, where she finished primary and high school. In 2012 she got her DVM title at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb in Croatia. Since 2013 she has been employed at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Skopje, University „Ss. Cyril and Methodius“ in Macedonia as young researcher at the Department of Functional Morphology which is part of the Institute for Reproduction and Biomedicine, where she also started her PhD studies.

The University of Sheffield research group attended the UK Extracellular Vesicles Forum on 12 December 2017.
The abstract presented was titled "Investigating whether the presence of spermatozoa alters the secretion of extracellular vesicles by cultured porcine oviductal epithelial cells in an in vitro model of the female reproductive tract".

On January 27th, a new cow calf was born. She looks and acts like any other newborn calf. But what is special about her is the way she was brought into this world.
