International Workshop on Wolfram Syndrome in Vannes, France from June 27th-28th 2016

International Workshop on Wolfram Syndrome in Vannes, France from June 27-28 2016. Wolfram syndrome is rare syndrome that is also characterised by declined reproduction. The central problem in Wolfram syndrome is decline in regenrative potential in different tissues. During the conference researchers from Europe and the US discussed potential treatment options and drug development possibilities for the Wolfram syndrome. They discussed existing models and planned further drug development studies. Sulev Kõks presented the most recent data from the works with Wolfram syndrome mice. This mouse is very good model for drug development and translational studies. Sulev Kõks learned how to prepare the drug development projects for different funders and what are the metabolic changes related to the regenerative decline in Wolfram syndrome.
