Conference "Preclinical interventions in ageing, frailty and multimorbidity” in Madrid from April 11th - 14th 2016

Conference "Preclinical interventions in ageing, frailty and multimorbidity” in Madrid from April 11 - 14 2016. Sulev Kõks introduced recent paper "Mouse models of ageing and their relevance to disease. Kõks S, Dogan S, Tuna BG, González-Navarro H, Potter P, Vandenbroucke RE. Mech Ageing Dev. 2016 Dec;160:41-53. doi: 10.1016/j.mad.2016.10.001. Epub 2016 Oct 4. Review.” (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0047637416302147). The conference itself focused on age-related  problems, frailty and comorbidties. Frailty involves also decline in the reporoduction. The conference had two parts - one was related to preclinical models, the other for clinical conditions. Our researchers were involved in the round table were frailty in relation to reproduction and regenerative potential was discussed. Declined regeneration with ageing leads to common age related problems like osteoporosis and sarcopenia. Sulev Kõks presented his works and learned how to model frailty syndrome in mice.
